Who built your drums?
Savior Custom Drums
Do they have a website or Facebook Fanpage?
Why did you choose them to build your drums?
They respond as if you’re already friends. It’s very welcoming like you’re becoming part of a family not an addition to their business. They are amazing dudes who keep you posted on every step of the process on your kit.
I currently have 3 kits from them. I originally wanted a big bright kit with yamaha style wood hoops because I had been dreaming of that kind of a kit since I was really young. Then I got more of a classy elegant kit for higher profile gigs and situations where big and bright wouldn’t necessarily be appropriate.
My last kit I wanted a stain with a beat up vintage look and weathered hardware with smaller sizes for more of an all around beat around kit that I usually just keep in the car since I’m always out and playing or jamming.
My snares match my kits for the most part. I have three snares from Savior. One is a orange and white pearl spiral wrap another is a gold wrap with Savior kick drum logo kick drums sandblasted in the wrap with weathered hardware and the last one is a clear acrylic piccolo.
What are the sizes of your drums?
Custom Painted Wood hoop kit:
14×8 15 ply
What is the type of wood/material used for your drums?
What do you love most about your drums?
The sound! I’ve seriously never heard better sounding or louder drums anywhere.
I’m sort of a hoarder when it comes to my drums. I’ll always have new ideas for drums and stuff, but I’d rather build a new kit then lose a relic that I loved at the time it was built and continued to love as I played it. Like Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin kept a lot of his guitars so he can go back and say I recorded on this one or played this show on this one. I want to be able to see my kits and remember important shows and events in my musical life and sort of relive those moments through my drums.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us about your custom drums?
I’m honestly extremely happy with my choice in drums for the past 3 years. I was one of their first customers and I plan to stay a family member to their company for the rest of my days. There is no better craftsmanship or customer service in any other company I’ve dealt with.
